In our intention to provide a better transition into IGCSE, Tree Top International School (TTIS) will adopt the Cambridge Primary curriculum with effect from January 2021 onwards. As you review the elements in the Cambridge Primary curriculum, you will note the overall balance between acquiring knowledge and developing skills that will enhance your child’s capacity to own their learning journey. Approaches to learning will be varied to meet the learning modality and capacity of each grade level through differentiation, yet maintaining the year level conceptual benchmarks. Cambridge Primary starts learners on an exciting educational journey. It provides a strong foundation for students at the beginning of their schooling before progressing through the Cambridge Pathway in an ageappropriate way.

The Array of Subjects Available at Our School
01. Cambridge Primary English
This curriculum develops learners’ curiosity about other languages and cultures, and how these shape our perceptions of the world. They will see themselves as successful language learners, be able to communicate effectively and become confident in and enjoy reading a range of texts as their skills develop.
02. Cambridge Primary Mathematics
Our curriculum’s “Thinking and working mathematically” approach promotes collaborative discussions, critical thinking, and evidence-based reasoning among learners. It encourages them to understand and connect mathematical ideas, fostering higher-order thinking skills and a mathematical perspective on the world.
03. Cambridge Primary Science
Students will think scientifically and develop practical skills alongside knowledge and understanding, which is vital for explaining the world around us. Improving learners’ awareness of science in the world around them develops their sense that ‘science is for me’, helping to connect themselves to the subject.
04. Cambridge Primary Physical Education
This subject is about learning to move and moving to learn. Learners develop skills through a wide variety of age-appropriate physical activities, including games, gymnastics and dance. As individuals and team members, they will:
- increase confidence, moving with increasing control, fluency and variety
- improve their understanding of concepts, rules, tactics, strategies and compositional ideas
- participate in respectful and responsible ways, engaging appropriately and safely
05. Cambridge Primary Art & Design
Students develop creative skills that will help with many aspects of their future learning and development. They will:
- learn to see themselves as artists and become increasingly reflective and independent
- develop the skills needed to express creative ideas and to communicate visually
- understand their place and the place of others in a creative, innovative and interconnected world.
06. Cambridge Primary Music
Cambridge Primary Music learners:
- cultivate a joy of music through participating in meaningful and enjoyable experiences
- develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to contribute as musicians
- collaborate with others in purposeful and expressive ways through singing and playing instruments
- nurture their individual and collective creativity
- use their growing knowledge to explore and generate music that is unique, relevant and valuable.
07. Cambridge Global Perspective
The programme develops the skills of research, analysis, evaluation, reflection, collaboration and communication. It strengthens the links across English as a first or second language, mathematics, science and ICT Starters.
08. Malay
Our Malay Language program aims to equip students with the linguistic and cultural competence to thrive in multicultural environments, whether for academic, professional, or personal enrichment. Join us on a journey to master this vibrant language and connect with the fellow Malaysians.
09. Mandarin Chinese
Our Mandarin Chinese Language program offers an immersive and enriching experience for students interested in mastering one of the world’s most widely spoken languages.
